Best Security+ Material so far

Emmett Dulaney hits all of the key points in depth enough to understand and remember. Very well thought out design in how everything is explained and approaches Security+ from the ground up, and it's very much appreciated. It covers almost all of the content needed for the Security+ Exam and the CD that comes with it is very useful for the practice tests.
I have a hard time with finding books that balance the explanation of content well, because most authors tend to not go too deep into certain subjects (Cramming study guides) or go so far in depth that you're wasting time reading it (Mike Meyer's book on A+ went through the exact process a processor goes through to retrieve from RAM and explains the first processors manufactured commercially).
I'm very happy with this purchase, but I do advise everyone to NOT use this as your only material to study from. Grab another book, Find study videos online, or take practice exams. But for all intents and purposes, this book is by far the best.

Better books exist

I agree with most other reviewers, in that this book is littered with errors (factual errors, not just typos) and somewhat incomplete. Although the author tries to use relevant examples from ordinary life, they fall flat, and do not provoke reader interest. My college wound up selecting another book to use for our computer network security course (Glenn Clarke), and quickly determined this one is not suitable.

This book and CompTIA Certmaster worked for me. I started with Certmaster to highlight my weak spots then read the book to strengthen them. I removed 1 star because Certmaster did ask me a question which was not covered in the book, I searched the ebook to verify. The book didn't cover "Non-standard Hosts". You can pretty well guess what that is and Google to confirm from other resources, but I was disappointed by the disconnect between the two official study tools. Otherwise a well written book.
